Clients of this long fairly narrow sloping garden in Winchester were keen to create a garden for the whole family to enjoy. We enlarged and repaved the seating area in front of the kitchen and added some raised retaining planting beds with lovely built-in seating to maximise space. A row of pleached malus trees provide lovely interest throughout the year and a good screen along the boundary. We kept the characterful leaning apple tree and integrated a fun playhouse for the children. At the bottom of the garden we added raised beds for the clients to grow their veggies and a seating space to enjoy the evening sun.
